As the Head of T&V, you will lead the T&V group to support the Structures and Design groups with car homologation and car systems evaluation, performance and reliability testing. Liaising with the Deputy Chief Designer, you will plan and execute all homologation and testing requirements along with defining jigs and fixturing to meet the testing and supporting the in-season proof testing to meet the program objectives in a safe working environment.

  • Develop and maintain in-house proof loading, car homologation and systems test facilities to support programme requirements. 
  • Plan and manage departmental workflow to ensure efficient utilisation of resources and timely delivery of testing activities. 
  • Provide technical guidance to the department in the configuration and execution of tests, reviewing and approving results and conclusions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • In collaboration with Design and Test & Validation capacity, ensure that all jigs, rigs and fixtures required to support departmental activities are suitable, safe and available in line with programme timelines, incorporating efficiency improvements where identified. 
  • Define and implement servicing and maintenance plans for rigs and tools, ensuring activities are scheduled outside of peak operational periods and that accurate service records are maintained.
  • Ensure that formal test requests are defined for all testing activities and establish a robust, traceable reporting database. 
  • Work closely with the department to maintain a safe working environment, proactively identifying Health & Safety risks and driving effective mitigation actions.
  • Act as a proactive ambassador for team values and behaviours, promoting clear, consistent communication across the organisation. Maintain a visible and proactive approach to Health & Safety, compliance, policies and best practices, ensuring these are clearly understood and consistently applied.

What do you need to bring to the team?

·       Experience in Testing and Validation or R&D IN in high end Motorsport, Aerospace or Automotive

·       Experience in leading teams of Engineers and Technicians do deliver results often within time constraints. Delegating where necessary

·       Experience of Testing equipment and jigs to support the business needs and identifying improvements to bring in efficiency

·       Experience of Design for Manufacture, especially relating to CNC Machining, Additive Manufacturing and Fabrication

·       Competent in IT, including MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint etc.) and CAD literate. Experience of 3DX is desirable

·       Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture

·       Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
