Senior Aerodynamics Test Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Aerodynamics Test Engineer to join the Team to work in the wind tunnel facility in Cologne, Germany.  In this role, you will be involved in supporting wind tunnel testing activities, and developing testing methodologies, processes and technologies.

What you will be doing:

·       Support the development of experimental wind tunnel testing methodologies, processes and technologies.

·       Ensure consistent, efficient and high-quality testing at the wind tunnel facility.

·       Support the definition and documentation of wind tunnel testing practices and procedures.

·       Work closely with aerodynamics performance development engineers in defining and delivering upon requirements.

·       Monitoring and reporting operational efficiency and identifying areas of improvements.

·       Identifying potential improvements in testing approach and supporting the development of these where viable.

·       Support the development and integration of wind tunnel testing methodologies and technologies such as PIV, model motion and control, flow field measurements, metrology and other wind tunnel technologies and capabilities.

·       Investigate and research new and novel technologies, techniques and methodologies for wind tunnel systems including instrumentation, sensors and aerodynamic measurements etc.

Requirements

·       Proven experience in a similar wind tunnel testing role within the formula 1 industry.

·       Experience of wind tunnel systems and testing facilities.

·       Excellent understanding of wind tunnel testing methodology and best practices.

·       Experience of off-body flow measurements operation and development.

·       Communicate effectively with key stakeholders/directors.

·       Strong levels of IT skills including MS Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

·       Positively contribute to an open and inclusive culture.

·       Based in Cologne, Germany.
